MONTH TWO: SLEEP REWIRED

dr. sara nowakoWski, pHD

Dr. Sara Nowakowski is a leading researcher in women’s sleep medicine with more than 25 years in the field, recognized for her pioneering work on cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia in menopause. A licensed clinical psychologist and Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, she holds both board certification and diplomate status in behavioral sleep medicine, the two highest levels of training in her field. Her 2026 pilot trial published in Menopause found that 69% of women receiving her tailored CBT-I had no clinically significant insomnia after eight weeks, compared to 30% in the control group. Her research focuses on the intersection of sleep and the menopause transition, including sex differences in sleep medication response and behavioral interventions for the nighttime hot flashes that disrupt midlife women’s rest..

  • Let’s say that person being 50 is 50 biologically, which means that’s the normal, it’s the average. Then lowering the biological age with lifestyle for example-eating patterns, quality of food, especially physical activity, managing sleep-you can biologically lowering…by roughly three to four years I would say easily.
