ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Effective September 5, 2026 · Last updated September 5, 2026

OUR COMMITMENT

RealWell is for women in midlife. That means a meaningful share of our readers are managing changing vision, and many use assistive technology. A site our readers can’t comfortably read isn’t doing its job.

We’re working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We’re not there yet. This page says where we are.

WHAT WE’VE DONE

  • Body text set at a comfortable reading size with generous line spacing
  • A skip link, so keyboard and screen reader users can jump straight past the navigation
  • Forms with visible labels, and errors described in words rather than by color alone
  • Most of our video is click-to-play, so the page doesn’t move unless you ask it to
  • Responsive layout that works at any screen size
  • The page language is declared, so screen readers pronounce our content correctly

WHERE WE FALL SHORT

We’d rather tell you than let you find out.

  • Several images are missing alternative text. Screen reader users currently get nothing where sighted readers see a photograph, including portraits of the women on our Hype Squad. We’re fixing this, and alt text is part of our publishing checklist going forward.
  • Our heading structure skips levels in places. Screen reader users navigate a page by its headings, and ours don’t yet form a clean outline. We’re correcting it template by template.
  • Video is not captioned yet. Captions are part of our production checklist for everything published from launch, and we’re working back through what already exists.
  • Third-party embeds. Our email signup form and podcast player, for instance are built by outside providers and we don’t fully control their accessibility. Where an embed blocks you, tell us and we’ll get you the content another way.

This statement will change as we fix things. That’s the point of publishing it.

TELL US WHAT’S BROKEN

If something on this site is hard or impossible for you to use, we want to hear about it. That’s not a formality. It’s the fastest way for us to find problems we can’t see ourselves.

Email hello@realwell.fit with what you were trying to do, what got in the way, and what you’re using (browser, screen reader, device) if you know.

We reply within fifteen business days, and we’ll tell you honestly what we can fix and when.

WHEN WE CAN’T FIX IT QUICKLY

Some fixes depend on outside providers or on rebuilding older content. If that’s the case we’ll say so rather than leave you waiting, and we’ll offer another way to get you the content in the meantime.
